He was in Vitebsk, Belarus, and lived there until 1990 and 2002 he lived in Israel, and from 2002 to 2010 in Boca Raton, Florida. He is a Russian-Israel modern impressionistic artist who works mainly with a palette knife and oils. He developed his own unique technique and style which is unmistakable and cannot be confused with other artists. Leonid Afremov paints mainly landscape, city scenes, seascapes, flowers and portraits. Most of his work is considered very. colourful and politically neutral.
From this art piece, we saw that there are a pair of sweet couple with a dog spending their time walk together on the road in the evening after raining. A river beside the road that reflect the building all along the road. There are some chairs, tree, and lamp accompanying them on the roadside.
The artist is using most of the cool colour tone, blue as the background colour. And using some yellow, orange, green, pink, purple to enhance his drawing. We can also had a lot of shapes in the drawing. For example, a trunk as a line, the tree leaves as the point, and some geometric shapes for the shops, and also some organic shapes for the trees. Although there are different scenes on the both side, but overall this art pieces look symmetrical.
This art pieces look warm and romantic. I can feel the sense of love from this art pieces. I think that it’s really nice sometimes to take a short walk in the evening somewhere in the park or along the river bank with your lovely one. These places are not so crowed in the night, and you can slowly stroll back and forth enjoying the company of each other, forgetting the few moment of stress and monotony of the daily grind.
